Writer Julie Hood is a former
consultant and CPA for PricewaterhouseCoopers
LLC. She worked with Fortune
500 companies to make their
companies run more smoothly. |
The daughter of the most-organized woman
she's ever met, Julie credits her mother with teaching her just how useful
the left-brained skill of organization can be. Of course, Julie's
right-brain mind likes to scramble her best-laid plans so she is
always looking for solutions to fit her personality.
|
Her writing career
began at the young age of 12 when she was the school correspondent for her
local newspaper. At PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, she was editor and writer for a global newsletter
on the computer software, SAP.
With the birth of her first child, Julie began
freelancing, mainly for home and parenting publications. She and her
husband learned the
ins and outs of running a small business as
owners of a computer consulting firm.
The
Organized Writer began in the fall of 2000. Inspiration for the
site came when Julie was busy freelancing and organizing her home as a
stay-at-home wife and mother. The
book, The Organized Writer: 30 Days to More Time, More Money, and
Less Frustration, was written primarily on the laptop in her family
room while her oldest child played nearby. It was finished shortly
after a high-risk pregnancy and the birth of her second child.
When she isn't
writing, she sneaks in cleaning house around a busy household with
two children, her husband, and two avid golfers.
