Back to School Means Back to Writing
Thought for the Week - Back to School Means Back to
Writing
Hi!
First, have you hit the back-to-school sales yet to
stock
up on office supplies while they are so inexpensive?
Here's my list of the must-have supplies:
-- Notebooks (my best deal this year was 10 cents for
single subjects and I got 20 of them. I wonder how long
they will last?)
-- Bookshelves
-- 3-ring binders
-- clicker pens (no lids to lose, and you only need one
hand)
-- printer paper, ink cartridges and toner
-- post-its
I love OfficeMax.com and OfficeDepot.com because they
deliver directly to my door.
Here's a quick Organized Writer rule for you....
Work Forward.
We spend so much of our time organizing for what has
already past. We're filing last month's bills, the
queries we sent last week, and the statements from
before. A much better approach, though, is to set up
your filing system for what's ahead of you. Set it up so
you can file right away instead of creating that "To
File" pile.
For example, we file bills by month and once a year we
set up files for each month of the year ahead.
Are you trying to figure out how
to work writing into your regular life (which probably
includes tasks like cooking, cleaning, vacuuming and
laundry)?
Lynne is one of my favorite coaches, and if you've ever
wanted to write a non-fiction book, you've got to check
out her upcoming training. I'm picky about what I
recommend to you, and I took this class to see if it was
as good as it sounds -- and it is!
Lynne has put together a step-by-step process to take
you from start to finish on your new book. Find out more

One of my writer friends just had
her kids go back to school, and she is using this
time to reorganize her office and see just what she
wants to accomplish in the remaining three months of the
year. What a good idea!

"Julie, I am sending a quick note to thank you for your well measured and extra-ordinary website. You have
a tremendous amount of information at a very reasonable cost. I subscribed to your free site and, for the
first time in forty years of writing, found a planner that works for me.
I felt so guilty for receiving so much information free from your
site that I have now ordered and downloaded the e book. I have found that you have struck a cord among so
many writers regarding procrastination and simple organization. Keep up the good work.
