Dec 27, 2004 - Power of Positive Possibilities -- Wednesday
Volume 3, Issue 33
The weekly ezine with a road map for
sidetracked writers.
"Be better writers today
than we were yesterday."
Thought for the Week - Power of Positive Possibilities
Welcome new subscribers and old friends, too!
Ever get stuck and grind to a halt with your writing and in your business? What do you usually do about it? Are you ever at a loss for what to do next?
One of our themes for 2005 is recognizing the the power of
positive solutions. Karen Hoffman, a good friend and
The Idea Coach, says there are at least 50 solutions to
any problem -- it just takes a lot of creativity to find
them all!
Next week we'll start our get
organized plan for 2005..... stay tuned.
I hope you had a wonderfully relaxing holiday weekend. We certainly did -- the kids had a blast opening all their presents and spending time with Grandma and Grandpa -- and we have a new member of our household. Sky, the betta fish, is my son's new pet. Anyone know the best way to clean a fish bowl? I was fish-deprived as a child <smile>
but we did have a dog!
A special prayer goes out to all our readers in Asia who have been affected by the earthquake. Please know we are thinking about you during this difficult time.
P.S. Did you miss last week's issue? Read it
athere.
For writers.... Library Lessons
Every time I check in with my local librarians, I am amazed at how much information they provide me (and how much time I save by starting with them).
Your assignment for this week is to find a new way to use your library -- maybe it's a new research database or you learn how to reserve books online or even getting a membership to a university library. Just find one new way to use the amazing resources.
For authors and publishers.... Snake Oil and Stinky Feet
One of the challenges of getting publicity is coming up with a unique angle that makes you stand
out from the piles of releases most news organizations get.
Here are two amazing examples that created a big stir with the media....
and if you like those, I've set up special arrangements with George McKenzie to give you the same half-off deal he's giving his subscribers on the
Free Publicity and Public Relations Bootcamp...a package that includes:
-- 17 audio programs (hard copy CDs, not just digital audio),
-- The revised and upgraded "Instant Press Release Toolkit,"
-- Eight Special Reports totaling more than 150 pages of tips, tools, and tricks for getting free publicity,
-- The "Ultimate Free Publicity and Self Promotion Action
Plan," a 131 page ebook that guides you, step by step,
to more traffic, more sales and more profits by using
radio, TV, newspapers, and the Internet to promote
yourself.
-- Huge media database (including 3,000 sites
and networks, 8,000 publications and 13,000 stations).
I've mentioned this Bootcamp before (because it's so comprehensive), and now is the time to get it before the price increases by 50% on January 1st.
Check it out and you'll see how the list of "stuff" you get goes on and on and on --
"Julie, I love your book. I have read (or at least opened) more than a trunk load of books about writing over the years. Yours is the first I have seen that gives readers so much in one place. For me, the Master List and putting that together was more than worth the cost."
